Huxton High School delivers an education that challenges, inspires and prepares learners for success in both local and international settings. From Form 1 to Form 6, we combine the ZIMSEC and Cambridge syllabi to ensure that students gain recognized qualifications, a global perspective, and the skills demanded by universities and modern industries.
Huxton High offers Forms 1–6 with a hybrid ZIMSEC and Cambridge syllabus, A-level options, practical subjects and strong extracurricular programming.
Our mission at the high school level is to shape young people who are not only academically capable but also ethical, confident and adaptable — ready to take leadership roles in Zimbabwe and beyond.
Students take 10 core subjects that strengthen their academic and personal competencies — including Mathematics, English, Indigenous Language, Combined Science, and Heritage Studies.
At this stage, students begin to specialize according to their abilities and career goals. Core and elective subjects include Biology, Physics, Chemistry, History.
Huxton’s A-Level program offers Science, Arts and Commercial streams, giving learners the freedom to align their studies with university and career ambitions.
We promote independent learning, research projects, and internships, helping students transition smoothly into tertiary education.
Academic excellence is only one part of the Huxton experience. We place equal value on character development, communication and leadership. Students participate in:
Guidance and Counselling: for personal growth and career direction
Public Speaking and Debate Clubs: to build confidence and critical thinking
Sports and Athletics: with opportunities for inter-school competitions
Clubs and Societies: including ICT Club, Environmental Club, and Arts & Culture initiatives
